A little stitching.....

I had some extra time today and decided to finally get started on a candle mat. I'm a huge procrastinator. Part of it is that I'm afraid to actually cut into a new piece of wool or material and use it. I'm the same way with scrapbooking. My son is almost 14 and I have three pages completed, and one isn't even of him! lol! I'm afraid that my end product won't look like it did in my mind's eye. On top of the procrastination I'm a perfectionist. It makes getting anything done almost impossible.

I took the plunge today and cut into a new piece of wool. Well, it's new, but I've had it for months, afraid to cut into it. Geez Louise, you can buy more lady. That's what I kept telling myself. Here is a sneak peek of a candle mat that will probably be finished in the next day or two....if I keep on track. It should be easy peasy now that I got past the wool problem. : )

Michelle,
Keep up the good work, it looks like you are off to a great start! I have spent my whole day drooling over everyones beautiful bowls on the Tuesday display chain, but alas it is off to the grocery store and out for dinner with the family. I hope to stitch a bit later this evening! Happy Stitching

I know exactly how you feel - the first cut is so nerve-wracking!!
But it looks as though you've made lovely progress and I look forward to seeing the finished piece!
Best wishes

I remember how hesitant I was to cut a piece of wool that I paid a lot for. Totally understand. I love your work. JB

Well ladies, a few of you don't have your accounts set up for me to email you, so Blogger got a bunch of my replies before I realized. lol. Thanks for your comments though. I was busy today and didn't get my mat finished, but I did finish the stitching last night so all I need to do is figure out how to put it all together. This is the first time making a muslin candle mat and I'm flying by the seat of my pants! :)
