Well here goes nothing. I'm attempting to post from my phone, but this thing
is a pain to type on so this will be short and sweet...and probably full of spelling errors. : )
Here is the progress I've made on my cardinal mat. I bought a skirt at Goodwill which is the perfect color for the background. I didn't follow the rules about cutting, because I couldn't remember them, so I have some fraying going on. First hooked rug, not worried about it.

Michelle, your cardinal looks amazing for a first rug. If the sides of the backing are fraying you can use some masking tape to prevent further fraying. I'll be on the lookout to see your progress. JB
what a great bird. You are doing a good job. good luck with the back ground

Michelle ~ You're doing a great job on your cardinal. I'd completely forgotten about that design in C&D. Heck, I should pull out all my back issues of all those magazines I have saved for years, I'll bet there is lots of great things I'd promised myself I'd hook.

That is looking great! I didn't get mine dug out last night. I have to get the penny rug done first and tonight is my knitting night....maybe tomorrow! You are really inspiring me to get started on it again!

Hi Michelle,
I love your hooked cardinal! I love hooking birds and cardinals always make a striking subject in a rug! You are doing great! I liked your post on your dyeing experience too! I didn't start dyeing wool until I had hooked for about 3 years! Wish I had started earlier as I really enjoy it!
Will be anxious to see the progress!!
Blessings!
